Primary Surface Options

All Photographic prints are printed on Baryta (bah-RYE-tah) Papers, made from rag fibers and coated with barium sulfate. It creates a surface that is similar to traditional silver gelatin darkroom papers. They are printed to give you richer, deeper blacks, more shadows, and detailed highlights. Baryta is specifically designed to resist deterioration. The thick paper is incredibly sturdy, meaning that it won’t warp or ripple when exposed to changes in temperature or humidity.

Archival Pigment Inks
All Doutone and color photographic images are printed in the Giclée (zhee-KLAY) process, which creates fine, archival images. Giclée prints are known for their durability — they’re resistant to smudging, sun exposure, or humidity damage. This deterioration is prevented by using pigment inks, as opposed to dye-based inks. Pigment inks, unlike dye inks, are UV-resistant and stronger when prints are handled.

All true black-and-white images utilize Piezography prints, which is a high-definition black-and-white system that offers the highest quality prints available. Using 10 different shades of black, this printing system is able to render shadows, highlights, and everything in-between with subtlety and fidelity.
